My name is Dr. Herbert Salm and I would like to take a few minutes to introduce you to our new local business, Gardens Veterinary Housecalls.

The mission of Gardens Veterinary Housecalls is to deliver the most efficient and effective veterinary care in the natural environment of the home.  As we all know, the home setting gives us all the ability to feel more comfortable, thus eliminating unnecessary stress, anxiety, and even fear in the case of both the pet as well as the owner. Certainly, as a multi-pet owner myself, I can appreciate the difference between a home veterinary experience and taking my animals to a clinic or hospital in most cases.  Moreover, it has always been my preference to treat pets in a one to one situation.

I have been a resident of the area for the last 11 years.  As for my credentials, I graduated Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.  From there I went into the Air Force, where my primary job as a military veterinarian was to oversee the health and care of sentry dogs.  From the Air Force, I went into private practice, where I supervised and operated two animal hospitals in Westchester County, New York.  After 26 years of private practice, I sold my practices and moved to Florida.  Here, I did relief work in private practice as well as supervised and treated animals in several humane societies.

My hours will be Monday-Friday.  Hours from 9:00am-5:00pm by appointment.  If, upon examination of your pet I feel that hospitalization is needed, and you agree, I will be glad to help you follow up your pet’s hospitalization experience until the hospital stay is complete

If you would like more information, wish to make an appointment, or just speak to me about my practice, I can be reached at 561-578-1095.  Please feel free to send me any comments or thoughts through the contact us page.
